Book Donation Guidelines

The Irvington Library and the Friends of the Irvington Library greatly appreciate your book donations!

Only items that meet the Library’s acquisitions policy may be added to the Library’s permanent collection. Materials not selected for the collection may be sold by the Friends, with all proceeds benefiting the Library. Items that are not sold may be donated to other nonprofit organizations or responsibly discarded.

How to Donate

  • You may bring one or two cartons or shopping bags of books to the library front desk during regular library hours.

  • Please do not use plastic garbage bags.

  • Books must never be left outside the library, in the vestibule, or in the book drop.

If you wish to donate more than two cartons, please contact the Friends in advance so we can arrange for someone to receive them.

Questions? Email us at friends.irvington.library@gmail.com
Please do not call the library regarding donations — thank you!
